Our weekly round-up of news: w/c 8th December 2014
Is your website ready for business?
The Telegraph highlighted that 30% of household shopping is now done online (and this is outside groceries), but there have been a number of stories about demand outstripping supply and many consumers have hit social media to voice their frustrations whilst they wait a long time for their goods to be delivered.
eConsultancy made a good point about the benefits of having click and collect functionality on a website.
It makes sense, especially in the run-up to Christmas. Websites enabled in this way will see customers being captured, not lost. Chat to us if you want to know more about our click-to-collect solution.
What does 2015 have in store for local businesses?
We read an interesting article from across the pond on the ten trends that will impact small businesses in 2015. One of the trends highlighted was the power of the ‘buy’ button - imperative for small businesses wishing to capture customers directly from networks such as Facebook or Twitter.
And lastly, ever heard the term ‘omni-channel’? It refers to the seamless multi-channel shopping experience customers now have. We found an article on Retail Gazette, which discusses the benefit of a customer loyalty programme and interestingly includes Random Acts of Kindness as point three, which is certainly something that local businesses can excel at far greater than larger brands.
That’s it for now. Hope you have a great weekend and wishing you all the best if you’re off to buy or sell in time for Christmas!
